New Zealand First Voter Base Concerns

Well, you know, I think it's a bit of a score for New Zealand first, isn't it? It comes really as no surprise, because as you well know, the rumour mill's been out there, and certainly some very senior figures that I've talked to that have been in other parties are talking about not only voting for New Zealand first, but some have been suggested as standing for that party itself as well. And I think there are two factors behind all of this, of course. Winston Peters is a... Like I've said before, a superb campaigner. He gets out, he goes to country halls and drags people in and normally they're packed out because he's charismatic. They like the cut of his cloth. They don't necessarily always like everything he says, but look, he's a pretty wily old politician. He's 81, just turned. So, you know, look, he goes to show that age isn't. and always the retardation that it seems when it comes to politics, although we have to look at the States and perhaps question that one.
