What the picker changes
  • Top topics digest — the cards score the selected period against the prior 4 weeks.
  • 12-week heatmap & outlet matrix — show the 12 weeks ending at the selected week (they slide back with the picker, they aren’t a fixed snapshot).
  • Per-topic volume / alias drift — same 12-week trailing window, anchored on the selected period.
  • Coverage gap quadrant — scores the selected period against the 12 weeks before it (not including it).
  • Anomaly cards — only show alerts the detector fired during the selected period. Quiet weeks legitimately show none.
What stays as-is
  • Outlet orientation strip / lean colours — context-only, drawn from the last 12 weeks of activity regardless.
  • Co-occurrence graph — recent-activity anchored, not picker-driven.
  • Source & topic profiles — all-time data for the topic; the picker doesn’t affect them.
Rolling 7 days is a sliding live window for “current vibes”; switch to Weekly to compare specific weeks side-by-side.

  • Yeah, and that's been a discussion I've had with many farmers over the years, and I can see the logic of that. You know, what you have, of course, is some of that retired country, which is, you know, now we are seeing holding ponds, it's gone back to dock. You know, some of this through 10-year review, of course, the high country farmers have paid big money in compensation for relinquishing that land back, and now they want some of them want to get access to it again. So there's a bit of an issue. issue of principle here but there's a pragmatic approach to wilding pines that we need to look at very very carefully and you know i can see that if you get the right animals at the right time they will keep on top of some of those wilding pines or the little ones but when they get out of control then of course you've got to do other things and whether it's drone spraying or you know cutting them with we don't know but the government's cut back or not had given very little money for it we through COVID gave 100 million we did get on on top of it we're starting to knock them back but of course there's no further money because you needed tax cuts and they did all sorts of stupid things uh with the budget and there's been no money for wilding fine fines yeah
